How will I be billed?
Waterpower bills on a monthly basis around the 10th of the month. You will receive your bill in the post unless you have opted for e-billing. If you have chosen e-billing, we will send you an email every month with your bill attached.
When will my direct debit be taken out of my account?
Direct debits are taken out of your account on the last day of the month.
How do I submit a meter read?
There are four options to submit your meter read to the ESB detailed below:
- Text – Text your MPRN number to 0879609223 followed by a space and then the reading, E.g. 1000000000 2125
- Low-Call Telephone – Phone 1850 337 777 for a 24 hour automatic service
- Online www.esb.ie
- Email – Send your MPRN number and meter read to reading@esb.ie
How long does it take to switch?
Your switch to Waterpower may take up to 14 working days. After your switch is complete we will send you an email (for e-bill customers) or letter (for post customers).
What is an MPRN?
MPRN stands for Meter Point Reference Number and is unique to your premise. It identifies your connection to the national electricity network.
What happens if there is a power cut?
For emergencies please contact ESB Network’s 24 hour emergency number on 1850 37 29 99.
There is absolutely no change to your reliability of supply by switching to Waterpower. If the lines are down, the ESB repair those lines and restore supply as soon as possible regardless of who your electricity retailer is.
